Introduction

Technical Art Generalist specializing in Pipelines, Automation, Asset Managment (Developer Heavy)

Hi my name is William and I've been exploring game development for roughly 8 years now. I've had many false starts, meaning that I've taken many breaks throughout this journey. I first opened Blender for the first time in 2016 and Unity back in 2009, but lost motivation with these tools which led me to become a developer outside of the gaming industry.

I’m currently a Software Engineer that focuses on frontend technologies and CICD workflows, and in spare moments I’m tinkering with game development.

As you poke around you'll see examples of prototypes I've created over the years. I've been exploring as many disciplines as possible within the gaming industry and believe that I want to focus on pipelines and tools.

Please have a look at some of my work (apologies for some of the quality). I wish I had documented my process from the start.

As for where I am today - Initially I thought that I would get into games as a gameplay engineer, but I've discovered Technical Artist as a role that would bridge my background in development with 3D art / tools.
